Activities are important because they help children apply what they have learned. One of the best ways to teach these learners is to engage them in activities that will help them discover and enhance their skills. Thus, we have developed activities that will enhance our pupils’ learning experience.
Our activities include:
- Practical life
includes life skills to help develop independence, coordination, concentration, self-control, self-awareness, and confidence. - Sensorial activities
allows the child to refine each of their senses: – sight – touch – smell – taste-sound and stereognostic. - Language activities
is based on phonetic awareness. children work through specific hands-on and tactile language materials such as sandpaper letters to the moveable alphabet. We also enrich the program by adding “Fun Family Phonic”. Children can learn the language through fun ways. - Mathematics activities
is developed with the use of concrete learning materials. The sensorial area is the preparation for mathematics. Hands-on materials are used such as number rods, number boards, spindle box and number tiles etc… each exercise builds upon another and the child gradually moves to from concrete to abstract areas such as place value, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and fractions. - Culture
allows the child to explore the natural world around them and includes:
- Geography (continents, landforms, earth layers, solar system).
- Zoology (classification, physiology of animals)
- Botany (ecology, classification, physiology of plants)
- History (time lines, using a calendar)
- Science
- Art and music
However, creativity is encouraged across all curriculum areas. We also include dramatic play into our curriculum to stimulate the children’s imagination.
